Give us an E… (E) E is for her easygoing nature
Give us a R… (R) R is for her many roles here at school.
Give us a G… (G) G is for her being genuinely one of a kind.
Thank you Ms. Goldberg for all you do for the school, our students, and our staff. You are AWESOME.

March: All of the students that placed for the school science fair and represented our school at the district science fair were congratulated and recognized for their AWESOME work in the fair with their projects and presentations. Congrats!

April: Amanda Longest passed the awesome award on to Kelsie Reeder with the following message:
Some people make a difference simply by showing up—but she goes far beyond that. She is the sunshine of the school, constantly lifting others up with her encouragement and positivity. Supporting any grade level or spending her own day off writing thoughtful notes to staff, she shows a level of care that can’t be taught. She finds the good in every situation and helps students see it too, guiding them toward their full potential with patience and heart. For always choosing to look for the awesome and helping others do the same, this award belongs to… Kelsie Reeder!

April: Amber Goldberg recognized SCCS's Athletics teams. As SCCS's athletics program continues to grow for students in grades 4-8th, the skills students learn in sports are assisting with team work social skills as well as well as learning the skills needed for their sport. This provides an opportunity in both upper elementary and middle school to become confident and hard working players prior to trying out for high school sport teams. Amber also noted the Athletic Director, Nate Hufstedler, for organizing these opportunities, as well as all the coaches of the teams that put in the work and time to the students of athletics.

Congrats to all!

On Monday, Ms. Register's 5th grade math classes had a math egg hunt! Each egg had a math problem in it that they had to solve. Each correct answer earned them one point. However, there were two GOLDEN eggs hidden that were 5 points a piece if they were found! Such a great way to practice math and move around! 🌷🐣

Today our 5th graders got to be apart of Umatilla High School's Agriculture and Culinary departments Ag Field Day. Our students explored 14 different areas of the agriculture industry. UHS students lead ours to learn all about the following things: -Beef production -Pork production -Dairy production -Horticulture -Culinary food safety). The other stations included amazing people our community that taught the students about their jobs in the agriculture industry! Those were: -The Bee Paradigm LLC -Lake County Water Authority -Lake County Mosquito Control -Duke Energy -Equine Management -Lake County Extension Office. Thank you so much Umatilla High School for inviting us! Hopefully today inspired some 5th graders to want to learn more about agriculture!

Each student got to plant their own Venus Fly Trap to take home!
They had the opportunity to learn how to get on and off of a horse saddle.
Duke Energy was showing students their safety gloves and how difficult it is to pick things up with them.
Students had the chance to brush and pet the Umatilla High School FFA pigs.

Shout out to our 5th grade STEAM bowl teams yesterday! They earned 1st place in the art category. Even more important than any award, throughout the entire event anytime I looked over both teams were fully engaged, collaborating, and encouraging each other. Not once did I see any disagreements or frustration, just teamwork and joy. They really had so much fun and even expressed how fun it was afterwards and there wasn't any disappointment about not placing for the overall awards. Please join me in congratulating them on a successful STEAM Bowl!

When it comes to kindergarteners, sometimes our teachers have to get really creative when it comes to classroom management. For example, here is what Mrs. Hufstedler does! Just Kidding.... this picture is from our amazing career day! Our students have come so far this year with routines and expectations. Hard to believe this year is almost over. Have a wonderful Spring Break!

Steam day was a success in Ms. Longest's 3rd grade classroom! Students created pollinator hotels to help our local solitary bees lay their eggs this spring. 3rd graders are learning about how pollinators help plants reproduce!

Greetings,
During this time of year we like to check in with our Stakeholders to get their feedback in order to improve services provided to everyone supported by Lake County Schools. We are requesting your honest opinions and suggestions because you are an important stakeholder for our Title I school!
Stakeholders include our entire team of teachers, students, staff and administrators, our students’ parents, and even community members who lend us local support; together we all support the success of every student that we serve at our Title I school.
Our school district receives federal Title I funds to support specific schools (such as ours) with initiatives and programs intended to impact overall student growth and academic success. Our school’s 2026-2027 Title I plan is currently being developed and your input is very important to both our school and our district.
The LCS Title I Department has provided us with this electronic survey to capture your opinions and suggestions about plans to use these funds during the 2026-27 school year in our school and in our district; IP addresses are not collected and all responses are anonymous. I ask that you kindly complete the online survey below, so our Title I school can use your feedback to shape our plans for investing the Title I funds that will be used at this school during the 2026-27 school year.
Please click on the link below to provide your feedback. Every opinion matters.
2025-2026 School Year Title I Stakeholder Survey for the 2026-27 School Year
The survey will take you just a few minutes to complete. The deadline for completing this online survey is Monday, March 23, 2026 at 4:00pm.
Thank you in advance for providing your feedback and for your continued support of our Title I school and all the students and families we serve!
